Cindex Now Available on Microsoft Store and Mac App Store for Easier Access
Cindex users, take notice! It’s now simpler than ever to download and install the standard versions of Cindex. Effective immediately, Cindex for Mac is available in the Mac App Store, and Cindex for Windows can be found in the Microsoft Store.
This streamlined availability means there are no extra installation steps necessary on either platform. Your system will automatically acknowledge, verify, and accept the certificate, ensuring a smooth download and installation process.
To enhance compatibility and performance, we strongly encourage all users to uninstall their current version of Cindex and reinstall the latest version from the Mac App Store or Microsoft Store.
We continue to maintain OpenCindex.org, providing comprehensive user information and support. You can start your download from links on the OpenCindex website, or head directly to the appropriate store to access Cindex.
For users requiring the Publishers’ Edition, downloads will remain available from OpenCindex.org for now. Rest assured—your current version will continue to run smoothly. We appreciate your patience as we finalize permissions for the Publishers’ Edition.

The OpenCindex Project is happy to announce the release of Cindex 4.4.
Cindex, the classic and dependable Professional Indexing Software, has been rejuvenated and is now stronger than ever. With updates by its original developer, Cindex 4.4 is reliable and more robust, featuring exciting new enhancements and functionality for more indexing efficiency.
Among other improvements, now you can Flip Headings on a selection of records for double-posting.
Another new tool allows you to Compare Indexes. Cindex 4.4 will also alert you to available upgrades. Read the Release Notes (Windows/Publishers’ Edition and Mac) for more information.
